1-10 claps = you've hit on something interesting but either the article is undeveloped or too long or just written too sloppily

10-25 claps = well put together article that still for some reason doesn't quite hit it out of the park

25-49 claps = a very well crafted article, writing is on point, good style, voice, and demonstrating a good working knowledge of the subject

50 claps = mind-blowing, perfect article I really related to and enjoyed immensely

And yet, we clappers reserve the right to: give 50 claps when wishing to encourage a new writer, or give 50 claps to a friend, or give 50 claps in the hopes for such given in return

give other precise numbers of claps, such as 10, 21, 33 for their auspiciousness (base of the decimal system, drinking age, christ on the cross / buddha under the bodhi tree) in order to entertain ourselves.
