It's compelling, and I don't rule out Russian influence precipitating our present moment. Except that our present moment could be explained entirely without Russian involvement.
The Strauss-Howe generational theory posits an 80 year cycle, which expects a crisis after every saeculum. Ray Dalio's exhaustive "The Changing World Order" expertly considers the rise and fall of empires and world currencies, while Peter Zeihan's angle is on our declining military prowess and the changes that engenders. Personally, I get to Trump two ways: neoliberal failures and the rise of social media.
Regardless, we're all together in standing against a Trump world.
