There are many threats, but one we don't seem to talk about a lot is the very likely threat of another pandemic, and soon. My version of prepping really began in earnest with Covid. Probably like a lot of people, that's when I bought chickens and doubled my gardening and composting efforts. When the next one comes, I want to be as ready as I can be.

This winter I plan to test how long I can eat without going to the store. (My wife and kids will be mercifully spared of this test!) Between eggs, stored rice and beans, canned goods and veg that will store like potatoes and squash, how far can it really take me?

How long until I break? XD
