I understand. Good on you for all the efforts. "Doomer" is not an actual word and so is a bit flexible. I've made the case in previous articles that dooming is the right thing to do, and was thinking about people just like you when I did.

In this article, I'm really responding to the recent writings of indi.ca and some others that seemed incredibly cynical to me, and de rigueur in being so. There is this other kind of doomsaying that there's nothing we can do, nothing to be done, aren't we all just so clever for identifying that.

Perhaps we need to coin some new terms: one for the smug doomer-nihilist and one for the doomer with steely-eyed determination.
