"Doomers" is a slang term with no hard and fast definition, though wikipedia defines it as people "extremely pessimistic or fatalistic" about climate change with a subset that believe we are headed for human extinction. There is room in there for people who think we should still do everything we can (I am one of those people), though whether you want to consider them also "doomers" or perhaps "doomer adjacent" is up to you. I'm not making any mistake or conflating anything.
Of late, it seems en vogue to write articles how we climate change is irrevocable, but none of those articles are saying "so we do everything we can to mitigate it." That is the raison d'être of this piece; to counter those various articles I've seen making the recent rounds. Perhaps you could direct your comments there.
