I think this is a bridge too far. Almost every Republican I know, or person socioculturally right of center, is against electric vehicles, vegetarian/veganism, solar and nuclear. Pick your reason: it's un-American, it's "emasculating," it's part of the government plot to control our lives, or they just plumb don't like it.
