It seems there's an assumption that prepping means isolation and rugged individualism. I'm a CSA member and surrounded by people who know how to grow and store food. I have my own small homestead that's developing each year, but I'm by no means isolated. Some of my friends are better hunters, some craftsman, some growers and canners and maple syrup makers, etc. And I'm surrounded by six million acres of protected state land. Years before climate change was as prevalent a topic as it is today, we talked about how we would fare as a community if we cut ourselves off from the industrial consumer machine. We figured it would be very tough, but we could do it. Again, it's how everyone got here.
