John, this is a truly great article, of the highest caliber. And not just because I agree, but because of how well-written and structured it is, how well-researched.

As far as the content, I'll just say this about the Nolans: they're libertarian imperialists. Like millions of other boys / young men, I loved the Dark Knight. But one viewing, I focused more on its sociopolitical message, particularly the conversation between Wayne and Dent in the restaurant, when Dent essentially endorses authoritarianism.

I had the same reaction as you to Interstellar: Wait - what? We're *not* the earth's caretakers? We're "explorers"? Such macho colonialist bullsh*t. No wonder I ran screaming from McConaughey's memoir.

Again, great stuff. I hope you keep writing.
