It is perhaps a small needle I'm trying to thread, but for those concerned about Trump "ending democracy as we know it" and ushering in societal collapse, I warn that a far more likely collapse is already underway and accelerating. Even with responsible administrations with their fingers in the dyke, trying at least for mitigation, as a planetary problem, the horse has bolted. Problems of food shortages, mass migration, sea level rise and escalating disasters will make today's political problems look practically quaint.

That's a lot of metaphors. XD It's been a long day.
