Great comment, thanks very much for sharing. Denialists are absolutely a problem. So, I might add, are people who understand the severity of the issue (or claim they do) and really don't change their behavior that much. (Fellow liberals, I'm looking at you.)

The "doomers" I have an issue with are those that imply nothing can be done, so smoke 'em if you got 'em. This makes them no better than denialists.

If, on the other hand, someone is aware of the direness of the situation AND is making sacrifices in light of it, personally I think we need a new label for such a person. Perhaps "good human" will suffice until a better nickname comes along.
