Some things like marine cloud brightening both make sense to me as something we must do -- increase albedo at the poles and slow the warming there to buy some time and save millions of lives -- and simultaneously sounds like the plot to a Roland Emmerich sci-fi disaster movie.
I mean, what could go wrong, right?
But I do think things are so bad -- and so much worse in the offing -- that we have to try everything. Maybe even if it backfires? I don't know.
It is weird, man. For an armchair specialist like me. Convert dirty coal plants to geothermal deep well supercritical steam generators? Awesome, but isn't that coal dust actually slowing some of the warming by reflecting back the sun? And then we need to do some crazy shit with sea spray at the poles to get that albedo back?
I'm not a climate expert or a scientist, though. I'm just a guy with a family. Trying to figure out the best path forward...
