Unfortunately, I think you may be right.

But the idea of marine cloud brightening, or any other emergency stopgap measure, is that it's a must-do in terms of saving millions of lives and trillions in damage. If we can buy just a little time by cooling the polar regions and slowing sea level rise, we can relocate people from the most vulnerable areas before they are literally washed away.
