Well written. Understandable. But I think there's a larger issue that's missed. (It's hinted at when he mentions the once-boring news anchored by Walter Cronkite.) We're divided not by politics, or political ideology. That's putting the cart before the horse, since politics responds to culture, which is shaped by technology. In other words, our civic disagreement has become highly profitable to news conglomerates and social networks.
